Luxury Shisha Brands 2026: A UK Buyer's Guide With Prices

27.04

Ask ten UK hospitality buyers to name a luxury shisha brand and you will hear Khalil Mamoon, Steamulation and perhaps Porsche Design. Ask what separates them and the room goes quiet. They come from different countries, cost wildly different amounts and are built for different jobs.

The luxury shisha brands UK buyers compare most in 2026 are Khalil Mamoon, Steamulation, MIG, AEON, Wookah, Meduse, Anima, Porsche Design, Innovade, Kaloud and Desvall. Most of their pipes cost between about £500 and £3,000, with limited editions and collector pieces far above that.

This guide compares them: where each is made, roughly what it costs, and the kind of project it suits. Prices were checked against each brand's own site or main stockist in September 2026. They move, so treat them as a guide rather than a quote.

What makes a shisha brand luxury

Price alone does not. A few brands on this list cost less than a good dinner for four, and a few sell pieces for the price of a car. What they share is a set of habits a buyer can check.

  • Named materials: the brand tells you what the stem, base and head are made of. Stainless steel, solid brass, titanium, hand-blown glass, porcelain.
  • Spare parts: hoses, seals, glass bases and heads can be bought separately, so a piece bought today can still be serviced in five years.
  • A real designer or workshop: you can find out who designed it and where it is made.
  • Service: trade enquiries get a reply from a person, and the brand will talk to you about volume, finishes and delivery.

Few brands hit all four. That is fine, as long as you know which one you are giving up.

Heritage brass: Khalil Mamoon and Shika

Khalil Mamoon is the oldest serious name here. The Cairo workshop dates itself to 1873 and is still family-run. Its pipes are hand-engraved brass, heavy and ornate, and instantly recognisable on a bar back.

That craft is also the catch in busy service. Brass joints and traditional seals need more attention than a machined steel pipe, and spare parts are harder to find in the UK. It suits a venue that wants visible Egyptian heritage, or a collector building a reference set. It is a harder sell for a hotel that wants thirty identical pieces running every night for ten years.

Shika is a younger Egyptian brand in the same tradition: heavy brass, hand engraving and a much lower price, roughly $90 to $380. Think of it as the accessible end of the heritage look.

German engineering: Steamulation, MIG and AEON

These three treat the shisha as a precision tool. Expect stainless steel, tight tolerances and parts you can replace.

Steamulation is made by Schmidt Innovations GmbH in Lohr am Main. The bodies are V2A and V4A stainless steel, the metal parts are made in Germany and the glass comes from Poland. Its SteamClick 360 locking system is patented. Most models sit between about €250 and $650, which makes it the value pick among serious pipes.

MIG released its first pipe in 2014 and builds in V2A steel with Bohemian glass. Most models cost €125 to €930. The MIG Titan, limited to 50 pieces, runs to about €5,800 to €6,800.

AEON is also made in Germany, with glass from Poland, and starts at about €350. Its pipes are minimal and architectural, closer to modern product design than a traditional hookah.

For a hotel that values reliability over drama, this group is the safe bet. The trade-off is looks: they read as well-made equipment, and in a design-led room that may not be enough.

Design objects: Porsche Design, Wookah, Meduse and Anima

Here the pipe is meant to be looked at as much as used.

Porsche Design worked with Studio F. A. Porsche in Zell am See, Austria. The first Shisha 2.0 launched at Harrods in 2011, and the updated Shisha 2.1 is listed at £1,500 on the UK Porsche Design store. It is a clean aluminium and glass object. The name comes with it, which is exactly what some residences want and what some clubs would rather avoid.

Wookah makes its pipes by hand in Poland from wood and glass. Full sets cost roughly €450 to €1,030, with a 24-carat gold-plated set at €3,320. Warm, tactile and easy to place in a wood-panelled room.

Meduse and Anima both come from the Czech Republic and both lean on glass-making tradition. Meduse is sculptural hand-blown glass, often lit from within, from about £500 to over €2,000. Anima works in porcelain and crystal, from about €790 to around €3,280.

These are the pieces people photograph. Check how each handles daily cleaning before you buy several, because glass and porcelain forgive less than steel.

Innovade

We make one of the pipes on this list, so read this section with that in mind.

Innovade was founded in 2019. The pipe is designed in Munich and made in Italy. There is one model, the Bavaria, sold in four colours: Pink, Black, Red and Turquoise. It costs €2,000.

More than £100,000 of research and development went into the head unit alone. That head is the point of difference: an engineered metal head that manages the charcoal's heat, in place of the usual clay bowl and foil.

Where does it sit? Between the German engineering brands and the pure design objects. It is built for daily service but designed to be noticed. We sell direct and ship from the UK or Italy, and hospitality buyers deal with the company itself rather than a reseller. The Innovade story covers how the pipe came about.

Collector territory: Kaloud Krysalis and Desvall

Kaloud is an American brand best known for its heat-management devices. Its Krysalis pipes are futuristic in shape, from about $570 for the Calix to $4,450 for the Monarch.

Desvall, founded in Stockholm in 2010, is the name most people mean by "the most expensive shisha". Its Bugatti by Desvall collaboration sold at $100,000 and was limited to 150 pieces. Its earlier bespoke pieces ran to tens of thousands. Today Desvall also sells a Classic line in 316 stainless steel or grade-5 titanium at €1,990 and €2,990, which brings the name within reach of a serious private buyer.

Where to buy in the UK

Some brands sell direct, others mainly through specialists. Two names come up often.

El-Badia, founded in Paris in 1991, is mostly a retailer and distributor. It stocks several of the brands above, including Anima, and claims more than 1,000 products. Its own-brand pipes are budget pieces, so buy it for the range it carries rather than for a pipe of its own.

Shisha Goods is the official UK distributor of MG Hookah, a London-born brand with contemporary models such as the Panther and Chameleon. It is a sensible middle ground for a UK venue that wants a modern look without German prices.

How to choose, by project

  • Five-star hotel, 20 to 100 pieces: Steamulation or MIG for reliability, Innovade if the room is design-led.
  • Private member club, 10 to 30 pieces: Innovade or AEON for contemporary interiors, Khalil Mamoon for a heritage look.
  • Rooftop or beach bar: steel over glass and porcelain. Steamulation, MIG, AEON or Innovade.
  • Private residence, one statement piece: Porsche Design, a Desvall Classic, Anima or Innovade.
  • Yacht: prefer steel or titanium and a brand that will supply parts abroad.
  • Collector: one of each tradition. Khalil Mamoon for heritage, a German pipe for engineering, Meduse or Anima for glass, Desvall for rarity.

Questions to ask before a trade order

Lead times, warranties and trade terms vary by brand and change often, so ask rather than assume. Six questions do most of the work:

  • How long from order to delivery, for stock pieces and for custom finishes?
  • Which spare parts do you sell, and how quickly do they ship to the UK?
  • What warranty applies to hospitality use rather than home use?
  • Who pays import duty and VAT on goods shipped from outside the UK?
  • Can you refurbish a piece in service, or only replace parts?
  • What are your terms for 10 pieces or more?

The answers matter more than the price. A cheaper pipe that cannot be repaired costs more over ten years than a dearer one that can.

A note on UK law

You cannot serve shisha indoors in a UK bar, hotel or club. The smoking ban under the Health Act 2006 covers enclosed and "substantially enclosed" spaces, and it applies to herbal, tobacco-free shisha too. A shelter only counts as outdoors if its permanent openings make up at least half of the wall area, and doors or windows that can be closed count as wall. The regulation itself is short and worth reading. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have their own laws with similar rules, and your local council's licensing team is the right first call. The pipe you choose makes no difference to any of this.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a luxury shisha cost?

Most luxury shisha pipes cost between about £500 and £3,000. Well-made German steel pipes start lower, at around €250. Limited editions such as the MIG Titan reach €5,800 or more, and bespoke collector pieces from Desvall have sold for $100,000.

What is the most expensive shisha in the world?

Among pipes offered for sale, the Bugatti by Desvall at $100,000 is the best-documented. Swiss maker Aurentum has also shown a solid-gold one-off priced at $1 million, which is closer to jewellery than to a pipe for use.

Which luxury shisha brand is best for a hotel?

For a large fleet in nightly service, Steamulation and MIG are the dependable choices, because of their steel construction and spare parts. Innovade suits hotels that want the pipe to match a design-led interior. Pick on how much the look matters to your room.

Is Innovade made in Germany?

No. Innovade is designed in Munich and made in Italy. Steamulation, MIG and AEON are the brands in this guide that make their metal parts in Germany.

Are German shisha brands better than Egyptian ones?

They are built for different things. German brands lead on precision, repeatability and spare parts. Egyptian brands such as Khalil Mamoon lead on hand craft and heritage. Many serious collections include both.

Can I smoke shisha indoors in the UK?

No. The Health Act 2006 bans smoking, including tobacco-free shisha, in enclosed and substantially enclosed public places and workplaces. A shelter must be at least half open at all times to count as outdoors.
